Waku

Waku serves as a native desktop application designed to manage and interact with various local coding agents. It consolidates sessions, transcripts, tool activity, and checkpoints from different agent CLIs into a single, fast graphite window. The application is built with Rust and GPUI, a GPU-accelerated framework, ensuring instant launch and smooth scrolling without relying on Electron.

The platform connects to each coding agent through its native interface, such as stream-json, JSON-RPC, and live events, normalizing their output into a provider-neutral model. This allows for a unified timeline of all agent interactions. A key feature is its 'rewind' capability, which checkpoints the working tree under a hidden git ref with every prompt, enabling users to roll back both code and the provider conversation simultaneously.

Waku emphasizes a keyboard-first interaction model, with shortcuts for starting sessions, queuing follow-ups, steering mid-turn, and stopping operations, all without requiring a mouse. It is architecturally local, meaning all projects, sessions, transcripts, and provider IDs reside on the user's disk, with no account, telemetry, or cloud services involved. The application is signed, notarized, and auto-updates via binary deltas through Sparkle, maintaining currency without user intervention.

The application is currently available for macOS, with future plans for Windows and Linux. It is designed for developers and programmers who utilize multiple AI coding agents and prefer a local, privacy-focused, and high-performance environment.
